Is a 79 4x4 from Californa worth anything back east?
Was just wondering if they are worth anything with hardly any rust on them.. Only rust is has in the lower right hand corner of the windsheild and I noticed a spot behind the right door about half way up the cab.. Other then that no rust...

I lived in New Jersey for a few years and you just don't see many older trucks. The salt and snow really does a job out there. As far as value..I'd say a 79 is not worth anymore than out here. Maybe an older truck (69-72) would be of greater value. I'll tell ya one thing though, my 77 k5 stood out on the roads filled with late model cars.

Yeah it wouldn't be more than where you're at. Down here we got billions of these things floating around, from 73s all the way up to 87.

Plus california models had more emissions equipment on them, which if I owned a 79 it would matter anyway.
But 73-80 trucks where i'm at are much harder to fine without rust than 81-87.

Truck worth
If you bring a 79 4x4 rust free to ny its worth probably 3,000 if its in running shape and hasent been rolled or somthing .

Yeah 81-87 are much more prevelent than 73-80, but i see plenty of 75 to 80 trucks often, 73 and 74 are the rarest around here (obviously).

I try and stay off the roads when it first starts snowing, then when it gets too deep and nobody else wants to go out I go and have some fun. And I know what you mean by everybody freakin out and buying all the milk and bread, its true lol. We have a wood stove and generator so when/if a big storm comes we don't really worry too much, were going to stay warm and still have some light and keep the fridges running.
