WTB:New Lug Studs/`72K20-Corp.Rear
I`m rebuilding my axles(front done)and I am having trouble locating wheel studs for the rear.It`s the Eaton(w/o Dana)rear,from a `72 3/4t 4wd.I bought every wear part from the drums-in.I`ve come up with 10 studs,need 6 more.GM:discontinued,Dorman:discontinued/no stock.I have a couple other places to try,but...Any help appreciated.

Try Napa Or Car Quest. I Replaced Them In My Towtruck. Both Places Here In Carson City Had To Order Them. Dorman May Have Discontinued Them But In Some Autoparts Somewhere, There Are Some Sitting On A Shelf Somewhere. You Just Have To Have A Helpful Parts Man That Knows What He Is Doing, & Check Stock At All The Other Stores On The Computer Till You Find Some. Thats The Difference Between A Parts Profeesional, & A Kid That Just Looks At The Computer Screen, & Says Doh Is That A 6 Cyl Or V-8?, Stick Or Automatic?, Greeen Or Red Truck?? A Good Parts Man Is Worth His Weight In Gold. John

John is right. Went to Auto Zone this morning for the inside axle seals on my 4x4, the ones in the tubes by the carrier. Was told they do not exist.
I guess if it is not in the computer, it doesn't exist. Bought them down the street. I was also seaching the net for obsolete items this morning. Found a couple of sites that had wheel studs listed. 1/2, 3/4, 1 ton and duallys. Try "obsolete GM parts" and go from there. Sorry I did not keep them.

I like junkyardjohns comment on the parts counter people..it does make a difference. I'd rather drive the hour for the service I get at some stores than the useless ones closer.

I know what you`re saying about "Parts Punks" and Mr.Pokey the "if I look up one more number I`ll shoot myself"Parts PersonIII,whose grandfather invented parts, and can`t even get rid of hemeroids standin`all day behind the parts counter and it`s a good thing`cause I wanna reach over there and slap you silly. But,these are good parts people.LMC only has Dana,as well as most sources since the Dana60 lived on.I`ll try your suggestions here, thanks.I tryed going to some places yesterday. They were all closed `cuz it was snowing...Wimps!For a while(short)a guy was doing parts at the dealer I`ve been buying from for,I guess, about 30years.The first time he told me he couldn`t look up a part w/o a VIN# we had a scene.I told him the truck that the part was for didn`t come with said option so it wouldn`t help knowing the VIN#.Since I told him I`ve been buying parts here since the 70s w/o a VIN# he made references to the effect that I was a 70s burn-out and then some. Here we go!I told him, unless he wanted his Hush Puppy wearin`,button pokin`a** kicked,he better run and get someone that knows what the "F" they`re doing! Before he could shut his mouth, the entire parts dept.was behind the counter.I guess they could hear. He`s saying how I was threatening him, just out of the blue.I told Tom the manager about his smart mouthin`.Got the part, never saw him again.

Does anyone have the dimensions of these studs? I have a box of NOS GM studs that weighs about 40 pounds. Problem is, they were removed from the packages years ago and I can't identify them without the GM part numbers.
