Question Rear End question

Okay here is my question, My 84 c10 has a 350 in it, but it was changed over from a Diesel. My rear end and suspension have never been changed. Can anyone tell me what gear ratio came stock in a diesel, and possibly what bolt pattern?

The whole thing behind this is, I know My truck is slow to pick up speed off a stop. My future plans include to change over to a 3.73 ratio. ,lower to a 3/4 drop with 17" rims and flowtech Headers.

Dan, most of the 1/2 ton diesels came with pretty tall gears, usually like 2.73 or 3.08. If you still have the RPO code sticker in the glove box or on the left inner fender, the "G" codes are for the rear end ratio. By bolt pattern, I'm guessing you mean the wheel bolt pattern, which should be 5 on 5".

Thanks for the help

About bolt pattern, I was talking about differential bold pattern. I've heard of 10 bolt and 12 bolt. I'm away from my truck right now that's why I'm asking....

Thanks again for the help.

Well I think it maybe slow because of the 350 gas motor .......Im just kidding you. My 84 truck is a 6.2L Diesel and it takes off good for the first 20 miles per hour but after that its somewhat okay. Its a 3.43 rear end and I get 23 Per gallon.
