Another Gauge Question

Hey guys, where does the wire from volt gauge go? i traced it back from the instrument cluster, and a little past the wire harness, and it was just cut, wheres it go after that, is there some special sending unit? or does it go straight to the battery on the red lead? hell i dont know.thanx

you can rewire it, put 1 wire to a hot led to fuse box making sure it goes off when you turn off ignition. the other run to a good ground ( the ground under dash to the left of steering wheel is a good place)
