does anyone have the factory HP and torque specs for a 1977 GMC C3500 camper special Sierra Classic 454? I'd like to know what our engine had stock..

and does somebody know if it was equipped with smog? ours isn't.

These are the numbers my book gives for a 1977 454:

454 - 245 hp @ 3800 rpm - 365 ft.lbs torque @ 2800 rpm

454HD - 240 HP @ 3800 rpm - 370 ft. lbs torque @ 2800 rpm

As for the smog equipment, we had a bunch(about 60) 76-79 Chevy and GMC 1 tons with the 454, and only the 79's had smog pumps, although I'm sure California models were different.

There won't be smog on a 77 1Ton.

454 stock was 240hp @3800 and 370lb/ft @2800

just realized that with 30" tires, 4.10's, and a TH400, our truck is dead on the torque peak at 60 MPH.

Is the coincedence or did GM do the math and do that deliberately?
