Engine specs?
does anyone have the factory HP and torque specs for a 1977 GMC C3500 camper special Sierra Classic 454? I'd like to know what our engine had stock..
and does somebody know if it was equipped with smog? ours isn't. |

These are the numbers my book gives for a 1977 454:
454 - 245 hp @ 3800 rpm - 365 ft.lbs torque @ 2800 rpm 454HD - 240 HP @ 3800 rpm - 370 ft. lbs torque @ 2800 rpm As for the smog equipment, we had a bunch(about 60) 76-79 Chevy and GMC 1 tons with the 454, and only the 79's had smog pumps, although I'm sure California models were different. 60-66 Nut

There won't be smog on a 77 1Ton.
454 stock was 240hp @3800 and 370lb/ft @2800

just realized that with 30" tires, 4.10's, and a TH400, our truck is dead on the torque peak at 60 MPH.
Is the coincedence or did GM do the math and do that deliberately? |
