whats the difference?
i replaced my starter on my truck the other day, about 2 months ago i replaced my 305 with a 350 bored .040 over, when i changed plugs on the 305 the plugs were marine plugs, the other day when i changed the starter it was a marine starter, what is the difference in a automobile vehicle motor, and a marine motor, any other way to tell if it came out of some kind of boat, i still have it, it's sittin at a friends shop on a engine stand

Besides the price most marine items are designed to get wet and still work, also all electrical items are also designed not to spark due to gas vapors hiding in little corners in a boat.

There will be a metal tag on the side of the block that says Mercruzer. Other than that the oil pan is a little longer at the very bottom by 2 or 3 inches. Matt
