Re: trans bellhousing?
I believ you'll need the new bellhousing, because of the crossmember being part of the bell housing. The mount in different locations on the frame and the 6 won't fit in the 8 position & vice versa.
If you were going the other way, 6 to 8 and wanted to mount the 8 in the 6 position, then they work fine. The bolting to the engine is not the problem, it's the housing to the frame that is the problem

Re: trans bellhousing?
You could always slide the crossmember to the needed position, but that may prove to be more fun than you want.
![]() On further thought, I remember when I was a wet behind the ears kid, I threw a 350 in place of a 250 and I didn't swap anything else other than fab a new exhaust (WAY OVERSTATING THAT more like rigging a get by exhaust) and moving a few wires. I don't see why you couldn't go the other way, but I've been wrong before.

Re: trans bellhousing?
the 350 is in place of a sixer because i did not want to move the crossmember so i am thinking that it should work which could be a good thing on my part and save me alot of time and headache on my part.
