Hello everyone, I have bought a 1996 chevy camaro z28 and would like to use everything on my my 1956 chevy pickup. Can i usethe rear end, engine (LT1,transmission(automatic). I am trying to get as much information as possible to see if this swap is possible and if its even worth all the hard labor. Also, can i use the front suspension components on my truck, i know people have used older model 78 camaros front clip, can i use any of the front suspension components on my trucks. you can use evrything except probably the fron suspension. measure the real axle, it may be too wide. the lt1 in the camaro is a nice motor though.

I would measure the rear axle as well. Run a tape between the inner wheel wells under your bed. you may be able to use your rear axle with the right wheel offset. I wouldn't attempt the front end swap because it is way to easy to install a mustang II or something else. If you are dead set on using it measure the frame width and see if they are even close. I doubt that they are but free is always better....As far as motor and everything else you may need to extend your factory harness in places but I have to many rods running that motor and tranny combo to say that it cant be done relatively easy.

Sounds good but lots of work adapting the front and rear end in.
The Specifications on the 1996 Chevrolet Camaro are:

Length 193.201 in | 4907.3 mm.
Width 74.101 in | 1882.2 mm.
Height 51.301 in | 1303 mm.
Wheelbase 101.101 in | 2568 mm.
Front Track 60.701 in | 1541.8 mm.
Rear Track 60.601 in | 1539.3 mm.
Ground Clearance 4.501 in | 114.3 mm.

The 4th Gen Camaro is unibody, right? If so, you will need to make or buy a crossmember to adapt the front suspension to your frame.
