Re: ???Best source for Window Channel Trim&Felt?

Forgot to mention that I also have these to, just not listed in the catalog yet. They are from Goodmark.

For 81-91 ( typically $10 extra on 73-80's)
4 Inner/outer (enough for 2 doors) window felts are $73.95
Sash channel is $19.95 per side

I also have 81 -91 ( typically $10 extra on 73-80's PM if you are curious) Weatherstrip Kits - each kit contains door weatherstrips, vent window weatherstrips, front and rear window gaskets, and door glass window channel kit, the cost is $369.95 for no chrome strip and $385.95 for chrome strip.

Re: ???Best source for Window Channel Trim&Felt?

Did that take care of all that wind noise? Was it very hard to do?

I don't think it's possible to get rid of all of the wind noise--just a characterisitic of our trucks.

Re: ???Best source for Window Channel Trim&Felt?

So you are saying these trucks came from the factory with wind noise? Surely not.

Re: ???Best source for Window Channel Trim&Felt?

I had finally gotten all the wind noise out of my old truck. Its not that bad. Just good window felt and such and I took black silicone and opened the wing window and coated all around it, shut it over night, let it dry..cut it out with a razor knife just enough to reopen the new seal I had created. WOrked great.

Re: ???Best source for Window Channel Trim&Felt?

Sounds like you found a new way to seal it up Dave. So the felt you found was good? Did they have have rubber for the door seal as well?

Is it me or did GM short everybody on the door seal? Mine is always coming down from the metal lip at the back curve on the door.

Not what I said but. I've known people who purchased these trucks new and NEVER cracked the vent windows and they still developed wind noise--that's what I was referring to. It CAN be fixed but sometimes it can be a real PIA.

Re: ???Best source for Window Channel Trim&Felt?

Just installed inner and outer beltline weatherstrips, window channels and door rubbers on my 82 with ones I bought at Chevyduty. All worked perfectly and in fact I had an extra 2-3 inches of door rubber on both doors that needed to be cut off. My only 2 complaints with them was the 2 long carriage bolts that came in their bed bolt kit were a 1/2" too short and they don't carry longer ones. They need to be 10 1/2" long and they were only 10". The other thing was they sell bed to frame pads to be installed between the bed and the frame. If you install them, your bed will sit too high and the body line will be off by 1/4".
