Exhaust n' Horsepower!!
Hey everyone, Just replaced the stock exhaust on my 82'. I updated it with dual 2 1/4" and Flowmaster 50 series Delta Flows. Unfortunately, I'm an Idiot and forgot my headers when I went to get the exhaust done, 230 miles from home. Anyways, my question is, How much of a horsepower gain do you think my new stuff gave me? It feels like 25, but that could just be because it sounds so tough!
btw, It's a stock 350 with 305 heads, perf. intake perf cam and 1405 carb, accel cap rotor coil. I think these engines were rated at 185hp stock, correct me if I'm wrong, so with what I'm running I figure the truck feels like at least 230hp. Is this a good ballpark guess???

Re: Exhaust n' Horsepower!!
most exhaust gains are noticed on a high reving, high compression, supercharged or turbo charged motor. i would guess a 5-10 hp gain from a mostly stock motor.
things like smooth bends, length, muffler design, h-pipes, all factor into how well an exhaust will help your motors overall hp.

Re: Exhaust n' Horsepower!!
Yeah I would figure 5-10 hp tops. Its really not a big gain till you get into MUCHO motor mods and or forced induction and such. Then you can see some big gains.
YOu could always install a TORNADO in there hehehehahahahahahaah!!!
