Misc Questions
I just put a new ps pump on this weekend and it works great. I bought this truck approx 4 mths ago and have not had much time to work on it. I was under the truck and noticed that the frame was bent out in a certain place on both sides and was wondering if this was factory or if the guy I bought it from did it? Also the person I bought it from said that it was originally a v6 but it has a 350 in it now I posted pics of the motor mounts can someone tell me if the mounts are in the original place or if they have been moved? and the last pic is of a brace the guy told me that supports the step side bed steps. if that is the correct brace how does it bolt up. and the front crossmember on my truck is not bolted to the frame on the bottom any sugestions
Thanks for all the advice on the ps up it was very usefull Also does anyone know of a good body guy in the wichita falls tx area

Re: Misc Questions
Alf, that step support does look correct. The wide end fits into the front crossmember of your bed and bolts up with two bolts. The narrow end comes down and under the step. It bolts to the step with two small carriage bolts.

Re: Misc Questions
The bend you are showing in the pics are factory bends. My truck has the exact same bends in the same place and my grandfather bought the truck new so I feel very sure in telling you they are factory.
As far as engine position, if the engine is in the 2 forward most holes the mounts are in the v 8 position. If in the 2 rearward most holes then that is the I 6 position. I cannot tell you original v 6 positions, someone should respond on that. Your first pic also shows a factory exhaust hanger, just in case you were wondering.

Re: Misc Questions
The main thing I was wondering is if all the frames have the 3 holes or did the previous owner dill the holes. Is this the same for the trans cross member.
thanks

Re: Misc Questions
I believe all the frames had the 3 holes. The transmission crossmember location varies according to engine and trans combination. I believe the inline 6 used the rear 2 holes for the motormounts.
