One piece window kit
Does the one piece door window kits I see for the trucks & Burbs work on the Blazer/Jimmys? If so, has anyone done it & how does it work? Thanks.

Re: One piece window kit
I thought I read on the board a few years back that they won't work for the Blazer/Jimmys because there isn't any support when the window is being rolled down. I have seen some modified blazers where they put a small, solid panel at the front of the window where the wind wing is to create that support. Similar to modern cars where the mirrors are mounted at the front of the door windows.

Re: One piece window kit
The cut of glass is the same and it works the same way. But, like Bouncytruck said there is no support for the glass when it is being rolled up or down. On the trucks when the glass is being rolled up it rides in the rear channel and then meets up with the front channel. There is no rear channel on the blazers. Plus you could never drive with the window part way down.

Re: One piece window kit
So if you can find someone to sell you the one piece kit MINUS the glass, then you would have the front triangle part and the weatherstip in place for a more finished look.

Re: One piece window kit
I have finally decided at my girlfriends request that I am going to cut my perfectly good (and I mean perfect) the only bodywork was where I welded up the cst molding at the bottom, door handles, and lock holes and now I am going to chop the top of the doors to be level with the bed and make it a full time roadster. Oh well, no guts no glory. What do you guys think? Any opinions!?

Re: One piece window kit
Take a pic of it and have it photoshopped on the PS board so I'll have an idea of what it would look like before I vote yea or nay.

Re: One piece window kit
Thanks fellas. I think I'm going to look into more. Maybe a little backyard engineering - I'll let you know how it goes.

Re: One piece window kit
I was going through some old magazines (I have a closet full ) and found another option. This guy raised his bed rails to match the doors and then made a custom top to fit it. He also leaned the windshield back a few inches to make it look chopped. He still has windows that roll up too.

Re: One piece window kit
The first one looks better, but the second one is probably a little more useful.
