Layin out?

Ok I have a 69 C10, it is bagged with the AR kit. I am wanting to lay frame on 20's running like 255/40's. What is the best way for me to go. How much do I need to Z the frame, and how much of a notch will I need.

thanks,

Re: Layin out?

You shouldn't need to Z the frame unless you are doing a body drop. You will have to modify or buy a new front cross member. ( not sure who sells them anymore ) That will drom spindles sholuld put the front on the ground.

I am not sure how big the rear notch you need

Re: Layin out?

you will have to Z the frame if dont do a crossmember drop. i had to Z my frame 3" to lay on a 27 in tire witch is about the same as a 255-35. best thing to do is either order the wheels and tires and then Z the frame to lay or get a tire close to the same size and use it. as for the rear you should lay with an 8 in might need a little more depending how tall those tires are, mines like 5/8 of an inch off the ground on a 27in tire with an 8in...
