Fuel tank question...has anyone ever....

Capt. Kaos has a great article on how to put a K5 tank in the rear of a C10...but has anyone put a 40 gallon burb tank in that location....and more importantly since i own one to many K5's...put a 40 G tank in a K5...

Thinkin out loaud again since my 79 is at a specialty shop in western colorado getting some heavy duty mods for dual purpose use and i thought if i could get a 40 g burb tank in there instead of a 31g i could extend my range quite a bit....

But i just wanted to let you know if you install a 40 gal. tank at the rear of your K5 thats almost 270Lb's in the rear of that thing when the tank is full im not shure if ya wanna go out wheelin with that kind of weight in the rear it may not take alot to put it over on it's top or side. just a thought.

Good luck.

I don't remember the dimension of the 40 offhand, but I don't think you can get it in a SWB or a Blazer. Lemme see if I can find some dimensions.

Burb tank is 36" long... 6" longer than a K5 tank.

Check the E-catalog for sizes
