kp watts link question

i know it just came out so i'm guessing no one has tried this but.....the kit they sell is made up for the 10-bolt rear end, but i have a 12bolt. Does anyone think it would be a waste of my time to either make a new plate so it could just bolt upto my 12bolt or plug weld up those wholes and then re-drill the holes to fit my rear end. i know a few other companies make watts link but the kp one to me looks heavy duty and works/looks very good....any suggestions?

I definately wouldnt go drilling the rear differential, that could cost you far more than that watts link is worth, how just using an adjustable panhard bar or a triangulated reverse wishbone setup.

I think he meant weld up the holes on the KP bracket & re-drill them in the pattern of his 12-bolt.

yea i meant drilling the holes in the bracket...lol..wow that would be fun to do i think i am gonna have call them up.....plug welding the wholes probably isn't as structural as having a piece made up for me....what does a reverse wishbone look like? thanks for any suggestions guys

Do a search for wishbone on summit, It is the best way of fully locking the rear differential, You can get up to 1/2" of travel with your traditional panhard bar and the the Watts link isnt much better, The only other thing that is as good, is doing the 4 link setup like the chevelle suspensions. The wishbone housing locator setup generally would go to the center section meaning the housing, unfortunately the 12 bolt is cast iron so by turning the wishbone around you have 2 joints on the axle and one slider joint connecting to some centered point in between the frame rails. It also isnt anywhere as complicated to setup as that Watts link and can go either on top or the bottom of the axle, as well as giving far more room for exhaust.

I built a wishbone with my factory 2 link. Only thing is that with a wishbone on a factory 2 link you need to put the two ends to the frame and the other end to the housing. My rearend does not shift at all. Centered the entire travel of my rearend.

you may want to check out www.totallypolished.com they have a video on the watts link it is cool and you can see how well it works i am going to use it with the stock 2 link and get rid of the panhard bar

that totally polished kit would look badass too.....it looks like a good kit....i was just looking at the kp kit cause that thing looks bulletproof...thanks for the suggestions though bowtie 67....the wishbone polished with my 4 link would look nice too

a couple of you said u were using the stock 2-link...does that mean your using your trialing arms? and if you are using your trialing arms i'm guessing your intentions aren't to lay frame.....i wanna lay frame sooo i don't think i can use my trailing arms which sucks because i made my own arms awhile back

I have the stock trailing arm and I lay frame on a 29.5" tall tire. It is possible but alot of work. My bags are also stick location.....sort of. My lower bag mount is the stock location on the trailing arm but the upper mount is has been changed.

wow....maybe i should keep the trailing arms i made then and do a watts link.....what exactly has be done to lay frame with the stoc trailing arms droppedchopped or fastbagged?

well, i found one on here actually... aesC10 had one.. and i got it. I just need the shop to open up to start on it. Its going on the old frame, with a few more mods to the frame, and kinda the same layout as the original... 6" chop and stuff... but i have soo many little mods for this thing so look out... super clean is the look im going for.
