WTB un-kinked hood for 78 Blazer

A friend of mine is looking for an un-kinked hood for his Blazer. I seem to remember this being a problem with mid, to late 70's chevy's? He was also asking me if putting later model hood springs or entire later model hinge assemblies on it would prevent the hood from kinking. 73-82 or 83 whenever they changed again is not my area... I never really liked the look of them.

Thanks

hood

Hello,

I have a hood from a 79 chevy pickup. Should work for you. Will give you the hinges too, if you need them. Only has a couple hail dings, but no kink.

Several retailers sell hood reinforcements specifically for these hoods. JC Whitney sells them for sure.

Let me know, will sell cheap. How about $50. bucks?

only is a problem because ppl dont know how to oil hood hinges or anything else for that matter.,

73-80 are all that will work for him, if he had a 81-87 thne he could also use 88-91 blazer and burb parts

if you look at a 73-80 hood and then at a 81-up you will see that the hoods are alot longer in 73-80 and cowl is part of hood unlike later years, everything changed- including cabs- in '81,
doors same 77-87 though
good luck
