Re: Fast steering box?
You can get NEW AGR variable ratio boxes 13:1 to 17:1 from either Summit or AGR. Summit does not show all the boxes available, you will have to go to AGR website to find 4wd boxes. Summit price is $320-$350 depending on box. Direct from AGR is $389.
My steering shaft was bent and scored the housing so my core would be no good. After I add core charge to a rebuilt box, I would rather have new. Mike

Re: Fast steering box?
Thought to bring this back up again while looking for a replacement for my power steering gearbox.
I just checked my unit on my 1970 C20, it is almost 1.5 turns to lock from center. I had replaced it over 7 years ago. Obviously the auto parts stores are automatically giving out the newer units due in part to the unit actually having a quicker ratio and it being a bolt up application. Interesting to say the least, and I wanted more! |

Re: Fast steering box?
This is very interesting. I will have to look for some of these to try and get a quicker ratio box.
