Lowering a`72,Cheap

I`m building two shortbeds, one mild and one wild.The`72 will be mild and a budget rod mostly built from parts on hand.Since it already has discs in front,I`m thinking of doing a 4-spring drop. How low can I go and still have a suspension and not max-out the alignment?I feel drop spindles are the first step in doing it right, but want to skip that if I can.Save the money for the`67 GMC pro-street.

5 in the rear requires a c-notch though, i think that a 4" drop in the rear is the most without a c-notch. id go 3/4 or 2/4 if you dont want to notch the frame.

No notch needed up to at least a 6" rear drop on these trucks

Re: Lowering a`72,Cheap

Tim, my truck has 1.25 coils cut from the front and it lowered it about 2.75". Handles great too! The rear has new 4" drop coils.

Re: Lowering a`72,Cheap

Boraxman I have a 3/4 now and would like to go lower in the rear. But if I measure my truck is level if you go 3/5 did you compensate with tire size? Or is your level at 3/5?
