Back on the road - new pics

Well, I finally got my tuning/emissions issues resolved, so the blaze is back on the road with new collector plates (yea... no more emissions tests...)

I'm pulling the top in the next few weeks and thowing on a bikini (hopefully.)

Anyway, here's some pics:

Re: Back on the road - new pics

Looks like a highly modified Chevy grill. Kinda neet with the built in off road lights to give it the GMC effect...

Custom fab by the guy before me... I've got another grill to put it back to stock, but this one's starting to grow on me...

I thought it was the French-version of a Blazer. Not to stifle creativity...but,it`s a bit funky to me.That, and the bars are crooked.Otherwise,I think it`s a real nice Blazer in a real nice part of the country to have one.Yeah...I`m jealous.

Good to see you getting it on the road. Of course you have to get pics posted when you pull the top!

Yeah, we've still been getting a few thunder storms around here, so I've hesitated. I'll probably just get a cover I can throw on it. I'll have to do a search and see what's bang for the buck. With this truck, it'll probably be one of those bright blue plastic tarps from home depot. lol...

I'm also going to search on good anti-theft schemes for these. I'll probably put in a kill switch somewhere...

I think today I'm going to try to pull the front part of the top off and see what's under there. I can always put it back if it takes too long to get a softtop on it. I wonder if anyone has Rino'd their top? uhmmm... another search...

Yeah, this whole truck is a little funky... Those bars on the inside of the grill are held on by wire ties. lol... They will be getting some attention soon. I'm still looking at a lot of trucks trying to get ideas. The good news is that it's super functional and I've never seen any cooling issues with that grill opening! The lights are bright and the screens really do the job for rock protection, so I'm a little torn. The other grill I've got is for a '69. It's in good shape, but I've never like them as much as the '71-'72 grills. If anyone wants to trade, I'll get pics of it...

If you really want to see how funky the truck is, check out the split roof at:

Ugh, are those the bumper lenses on the inside of the headlights? I guess the PO learned not to waste stuff at least...

Re: Back on the road - new pics

lol... He was a pretty good builder, but he didn't spend anything on materials. The bumpers are very well made, and it looks like he left all the original mounting stuff there without butchering it. I think I could put it back stock without too much trouble. Knock on sheetmetal...
