Lop-sided :-(

I have an '81 C-10. The truck rides fine however when you look at it from the front, its obvious that the front end of the truck on the driver's side is sitting lower than the passenger's side. Its not really noticable while riding inside though, only when viewing the truck from the front and the issue only seems to be on the front; the rear of the truck appears level. Unfortunately I just moved and don't have my digital camera here with me yet, so I can't post pictures yet.

Does it sound like I have an obvious suspension issue?

Thanks!

Re: Lop-sided :-(

Sounds like mine. Body mounts are probably compressed (like mine) with age (and my twohundredandtoomany lbs!)

Re: Lop-sided :-(

It might also be the weight of the gas in the saddle tank plus weak springs up front. My 79 lists to the right, and it has the passenger side tank.

Re: Lop-sided :-(

Both my '82 and '85 suffer that. My front leafs on my '82 K10 have negative arch. Both have drivers side only tanks.

Re: Lop-sided :-(

My 86 does the same except worse on the rear. I'm gonna try to go to the junkyard and get a set of springs from another truck and swap out the drivers side with passenger side springs.

Can you tell the difference in the pics?

Re: Lop-sided :-(

yep add both of mine to the list.. 82 and 87, though they have saddle tanks, I bet over its life the drivers side tanks were used the most and add the drivers weight, multiply by time and well.... you get the idea. Depending on what you use your truck for you might look into getting a set of new coils or HD coils to hopefully level out the truck. The new coils should level side to side and the HD coils will level side to side and front to rear.

As stated above me it could also be the body mounts breaking down as well, due to drivers weight over the years. Look into both and replace which ever you think is more worn and see where you are. If you replace both then just look at it as another step towards restoration.
