Re: 1995 fi50 mirrors on 1972 gmc pickup
measure 7 1/2 inches from the cowl to the first screw hole, or 6 1/2 inches to the base. i only use the 2 screws with a backing plate made of 1/4 inch plate. i cut the arm off that goes from the mirror to the inner door panel because the vent window bracket was in the way.

Re: 1995 fi50 mirrors on 1972 gmc pickup
Dont mean to be a bother, but how big are those mirrors compared to say, a normal tow style mirror. I have a C-20 and I really am not keen on putting the big mounted in two spots mirrors back on. Do you have a picture that shows it with the whole truck side, to give us a to scale look?
Thanks, Orlando

I have them on my dually. Fine for everyday driving. When I have a trailer in tow I use those slip on mirrors from CIPA, it certainly helps out.

i thought i read on here somewhere that they had to be mounted a little farther rearward than ideal to clear the vent windows i like the look but was concerned with the function
