How do you...
Remove the tranny, transfer case, & cross member in one piece?
I started pulling this ensemble two nights ago - and I cannot get it out -the top part of the crossmember is sandwiched between the frame rail. I can't get the crossmember out unless I twist the whole thing (it looks like) Anyone have any suggestions? Or should I give up and pull it in three pieces? [_........._] -\_____/-

The only time I've pulled mine, I dropped the t-case first, cross member, then transmission. All three together is dang heavy...

I don't remember what tranny you have but I pulled my 205 & SM465 together. I did have to take the X-member off first. Then as I was lowering the T-case & tranny it fell off the jack and BOOM hit the driveway!
Getting it back in I put two long 'headless' bolts into the top corners of the bell and then the trany's bolt holes slid on thease headless bolts and guided the tranny in straight with the T-case still attached..PIA but it worked. Good Luck Burt

I pulled my 465/205 together (motor was removed). Xmember has to come out first, twist it diagonal to the frame rails and it comes out. I dropped them with a floor jack, very unstable. I reinstalled it with a engine hoist through the pass door, hoisting through the tranny hump area, much easier.

Ben, I have a mount i made for pulling tranny and transfer case out in one unit. It worked slick and it allows you to re-install semi ez'ly. give me a call.

I looked, i dont have any pics with the tranny and t-case mounted on it. The bar is welded off center so that if you mount this to the bottom of t-case where it mounts to the cross member it balances the whole unit pretty well. Then u pull the spinny thing out of a floor jack and stick this unit in and away you go.
Ignore the outside shape I just used what scrap steel i had laying around.
