Re: Update on 72!!
Looking great! A fewquestions for ya.. What hinges did you use for the doors and was it a kit for thehood or did you build it your self. The hood tire problem is the only thing left on my 7yr build to work out and I have been thinking about doing the flip. More pic's would be great as well.

Re: Update on 72!!
I'll get more pics this weekend. The hinge started as buick parts, but they are so cut up to clear the tires I don't think there is any "buick" left. The hinges are from Jason at *****************, and my wheels actually HIT the friggin edge on the hood. The fenders are cut to ****, and I just let 'em rub the hood. just just barelly kiss it.

I agree with everyone saying it looks great! I too would like to see some pics of the hood hinges! How do you open the hood when it is a forward tilt? I think you should keep us updated as you progress!!!!!!

Re: Update on 72!!
More pics. Tranny tunnel is done, but batts died. So is steering shaft. And for people with questions, trans is sitting on floor and frame is on 2x4's. Thats why the tranny looks low, and the a-arms aren't real close to the steering shaft.
BTW_ The hood opens normally, with stock latch modified for pull cable. The front opens about a foot, then it tilts forward. I'll get a video of it opening, its pretty cool. I'm a long ways from where it was. But for those who don't remember here's a refresher. As I bought it: As it was 1.5 yrs ago: Last edited by Bagd72Chevy; 09-26-2006 at 12:51 AM. |

Re: Update on 72!!
That first blue color I have no idea about. It was close to stock, but was a single stage Maaco job with a bunch of runs. Previous owner had that done, and I wish he wouldn't have b/c I wouldn't have bought it. A lot of rust was hiding.
As far as doing someone else's truck, as soon as mine is done I'll work on anything. I'm actually interested in building a tow vehicle. Something along the lines of a 71-72 Crew Cab dually bagged on 24" Alcoa big rig wheels. Either a duramax or cummins for power and a fifth wheel is a necessity. I'm at school now, but I'll be home next weekend and I'll try to grab some more pics! Ryan |
