We need to know more about your truck. Is it all stock? 2wd? 4wd? lowered? Two tone?

It is lowered 4-6 and is a short fleet with American Racing gray centered coke bottle/Dasiy wheels on it. 2wd and not two tone.

It's really a personal preference, which is why I hate it when guys rag on me for going all original. Yes, I still have my hood emblem, and that shocks most everyone. I also have my big 'ol steering wheel

Re: Getting the 86 Silverado paited factoy blue??

I'd say either way can be good. I really like Eric's truck.

Here are two that also are favorites of mine. One has emblems, one doesn't. One has trim, one doesn't. Both look killer. One important style note, if you have the large below eyeline mirrors (Dumbo mirrors) get rid of them. The smaller ones are crappy as mirrors, but make the look of these trucks.

Re: Getting the 86 Silverado paited factoy blue??

I like the factory colors, but I'm going with dark green metallic, a newer factory color.

I am also using fender emblems, i got a set of new Custom Deluxe 10 emblems sitting here on the desk by me.

Being from Rogersville myself, Tim I like the classic look with the emblems and the trim if it is in top notch shape. I think the combination sets off a really good paint job

Maybe if you weren't using this to advertise your buisiness you might consider a a clean shaved truck. Considering it's a tool to promote sales I would say go with the resto look with 20's. Then again, I am a bit biased to that look....

Re: Getting the 86 Silverado painted factoy blue??

I plan to leave the trim under the rear window and the Dumbo ears, but remove the fender emblems and the chrome strip that runs across the gas tank doors.

Re: Getting the 86 Silverado painted factoy blue??

i think you need something across the side of the truck so it doesnt look so masive (on a fleetside at least ) you could have some of the trim airbrushed on there

Re: Getting the 86 Silverado painted factoy blue??

the first truck is sweet. The look I want for my truck.
I say go with the trim, looks good.
I also like the mirrors, the dumbo mirros have to go, the small ones look good.

Re: Getting the 86 Silverado painted factoy blue??

Hey Guys, Thanks for all the help. I am painting the truck back factory blue and putting all the molding and emblems back on (ordered all my trim today from GM) The picture ElGracho posted won me over and I am losing the Dumbo mirrors. Thanks again

Re: Getting the 86 Silverado painted factoy blue??

Sounds like a good plan. I really like the blazer/sub style rear bumper over a roll pan too. These trucks look so good with their original lines, it's hard to improve on...

Re: Getting the 86 Silverado painted factoy blue??

Good deal Tim. I like the trim on the square bodies. It gives them a finished look, IMO. I really like ocbaud's truck also with no emblems. Oh and by the way:

Dang! You made up your mind before I showed you mine with the wheelwell, cab trim and emblems but no body side moldings.

In this photo the truck is lowered by photoshop.
By the way, I agree with ElGracho- the little mirrors look cool but are useless.
