Original Upholstery Pic on Utility Buckets?

May have been on before and I missed it but does anyone have any pics of ORIGINAL utility bucket seat upholstery. I know they are not being repoped but I would like to see what 71 model year looks like. My blazer is NOT a CST so I don't think they would have scroll work would they? Backseat doesn't.Thanks ahead of time.

Re: Original Upholstery Pic on Utility Buckets?

I REALLY like the ones I have. But I have never really liked highback buckets that much anyway. I think the utilities sit very well. Now if I just can get covers made in medium blue and oh yeah finish up all the body work, paint engine block, paint blazer itself, carpeting, etc, then she will be ready to go!

Hey uncle, do you have an extra set of those? That's exactly what I need. Mine had later year seats in it with the latch in the middle.

Re: Original Upholstery Pic on Utility Buckets?

didn't mean to interupt the thread but:

Thanks Uncle, let me know. I have a set of later model seats in there now (or from a 72 blazer?), but they don't bolt up right and have the passenger hold down bracket in the center. I have posted before about my issues. It was determined that my '70 Jimmy had the utility buckets in there originally and I'd like to go back to them. I'm will to trade these or whatever. I'm in no hurry as I haven't even touched the truck since I bought it last Feb.

Thanks

Re: Original Upholstery Pic on Utility Buckets?

I hate to dredge up an old thread, but...was there only *1* upholstry available on a utility bucket? That is, did a utility bucket just get the standard fare covering (pictured above) or were they also covered in the scroll type vinyl covering? My suburban originally had the utility buckets (we think!), so I'm just trying to get a game plan on recovering a set (as original) in the future...any of the original material, or even aftermarket, available to recover a utility bucket?

Re: Original Upholstery Pic on Utility Buckets?

That's it, that is the "utility" part, the scroll etc is the other seat with the formed foams. My utilities are that color and I don't think the material is repoped at all, original covers (ie reuse the ones on it if they are OK, or??) or aftermarket custom set-ups only

Re: Original Upholstery Pic on Utility Buckets?

I think you can get that plain jane material for the truck bench seat but not the utility buckets so I was going to get that and have a good upolstry guy cut and fit the bucket seats from the bench seat material. I have been told that would work and I would like the original look. Do you guys think that would work? It is all contingent on me finding the bench seat material.

Re: Original Upholstery Pic on Utility Buckets?

Original seats, maybe but not the material, those are recovered. Nice and for $80 you scored, but not the original material, all the utilities are covered with the material in uncle's picts. I thought black was it, but I am not 100% positive on that part at all??

Re: Original Upholstery Pic on Utility Buckets?

WODDYMAN i have two sets that the the latch is in the center on both. I have a daughter getting married this weekend so hopefully next week i will be able to find the contact that LMC truck uses. I do not think that utilities came with scroll just the print that you see in uncles but i wanted the black scroll trying to go back with as close to CSTasi could even though the truck was bought plane.I will try to get some pics sunday.

Re: Original Upholstery Pic on Utility Buckets?

I have a rear bench seat in my blazer with the utility bucket vinyl pattern on it. It is original to the Blazer and isn't a suburban third row seat or pickup bench. It is parchment. So maybe they made parchment utility buckets too.

Re: Original Upholstery Pic on Utility Buckets?

Yea from what i have seen the parchment was in custom k-5 and scroll in the CST. I can remember going to work with my dad on a pipeline and all the the plane company trucks had the parchment. The welders with the cheyene equipped trucks which were the same as the CST Blazer were fancy with the scroll seats and woodgrain dashes the plane just had black cluster with idiot lights no guages except gas. I do not think i ever saw utility seats in CST blazers just the narrow truck buckets may be wrong .

Parchment Utility Buckets - they do exist

How did you go about getting a scroll cover for the utility bucket? Wonder if they make them in parchment?
