pics of halftop truck
I told a member ( can't remember who) that I would get some pics of this truck with a halftop and post them so it could be identified. The owner says he got it from a scrap yard where it had been abandoned. So he has no title but apparently all the paperwork he has says its a '69 truck. This is what he tells me and somebody cut the top off and had this custom top made for it. He said the paperwork also said the truck belonged to the city and was used to carry a big water tank around in the back of it. Look at the pics and you decide. I know I'm not the expert but....

Re: pics of halftop truck
That's a 73-75 blazer with a half top if I had to guess.

So is it for sale? I'd love to have that top.

Re: pics of halftop truck
Definately a Blazer. Look at the rear gas tank, etc. One thing I noticed is that the retainers for the top on the windshield pillar are not like the originals on the Blazers. Cool idea though on the top! I wonder who made it??

Re: pics of halftop truck
Why would someone just leave that. You are right Krue. One thing for sure, it is not a '69. That truck sure is workable. Thanks for sharing.

Re: pics of halftop truck
Good guess. I'm not sure if it's not a 76-80 though. If you look at the windshield header it appears as if this once had a half metal roof and was cut to make the half top fit. I "think" 73-75's were shorter in that area....

Re: pics of halftop truck
Looks like a piece from an aftermarket conversion company to me. And I highly doubt a town would buy a custom halfton lightweight blazer 2wd to carry any water tank.

Re: pics of halftop truck
I've seen several of those over the years in my smaller town. I think it's just a aftermarket top for someone who decides they want a pickup instead of a blazer.. I'm not a big fan of them personally. They are shorter than the std Short wheel base pickup so to me they look akward..

Re: pics of halftop truck
can always get more pics. Go by this place at least once a week on one of my runs. Its only about 2 hours from me. The owner said he paid $700 for the whole truck and won't sell the top by itself, but would consider selling the whole truck for $1000.

Re: pics of halftop truck
ha ha ha well every one is trying to mkake a buck i guess. He may have the wrong paper work. The body is definatly 73 and up but the frame could be older i am not sure. front clip is definatley 73 to 75. after looking at the frame i belive that the paper work is for the wrong truck! That is a 2wd 1/2 ton blazer from the 73 and up era as such it wound not be any good fror hauling for public works as it is a 1/2 and not a 3/4. Also most trucks that get to haul water are 4x4 in case they need to get into a tricky spot. I could be wrong but i would guess those are the wrong papers

Is it possible that is a "cab-kit" for a 67-72 style that some one modded to work on a that Blazer? I have one of those cab peices that bolts to the back of your roof on a 76 and newer (half top) Blazer. Haven't tried to use it yet though. I think the company was crponline or something like that. Their website doesn't work nor does their e-mail so I assume they went under.

Re: pics of halftop truck
That would be my guess as well. I had a 74 and from what I remember that's what the windshield frame looked like...
