need some help from you bag guys
i have all 4 gags just about mounted, i have 2 compressors mounted, i have a old settling bottle i am setting up for a tank. how do i plumb this system for a simple set-up? i wat to be abel to controll the rear seperate from the front. system diagrams i see always show the front using 2 fill and 2 dump valves, why? i want to keep this as simple as i can but not getto. what are all the parts i need including drains, filters, check valves, tees, etc. next question i have is, i have some sets of ground force lowering shocks from our f-150projects. i am trying to see if these will work for me. they are left overs.
one set is oe10488 c331u1f one set is 21301 c097z3 since they dont do anything with our trucks anymore they cant really tell me any thing. my truck is a 68 c-10 i am looking for 3-4 lower front maybe more, 5-6 rear. this is a mild drop for bags but its the route i chose to go. any help would be great. thanks, pkj |

You want one valve for fill and one valve for dump for each bag. If you share air between bags, then when the suspension moves from one side to the other, the air will be push out of one bag and into the other (making body roll 10x worse).
There are people who say you can get away with 6 valves with the rear sharing dump/fill, but I wouldn't run it that way. Here is what I have to run 1 compresor, 4 bags, 1 tank: Feeder line from comp to water trap (built in check valve) Feeder line from trap to tank 1 water trap 1 drain valve 4 brass Tees with gauge fittings 8 brass nipples 8 straight press connect fittings 4 90 degree swivel press connect fittings 2 union tees 1 male branch tee 50' 1/2" air line 50' 1/8" air line (for gauges) 2 dual needle gauges 7 switch controller Pics to follow if it's not raining too hard tomorrow. |

I only have 4 valves and it works fine but 6 or 8 would be better. I just ran my water trap right off the tank so you wouldnt need another hose but other than that hes pretty much right on in my opinion.

Hey Bagged does your water trap actually catch the moisture? When the compressor is on it is pushing hot air into that tank and if you are hitting your switches right after it filled up your water trap should catch much water. I figured that out when i used to paint cars in my garage. My water trap wasn't catching much water so i ran it 50' hose to the trap and i caught alot more water. Just sharing some info. I sure you knew that but maybe pjk didn't.

okay now i see the logic. side to side would be a problem. what do the 7 switchs do? i dont care for the idea of having to try and hide that much in the cab. i guess i was hoping to use 2 dual action switchs. each switch would act as a fill and dump. one for front, one for rear.??? thanks, pkj

You can use dual action rocker switches. Then you will only need four. I ran five on mine so I could dump the system with one switch. I copuld set it to fill the system with one switch too, but that would require another circuit.

thanks n2trux, i like that nice and small. would like to see some pics of how all the valves are being mounted and where. i guess this is where the real money is spent, getting the system plumbed and wired to work the right way.

Mine catches moisture when I use it but I usually use nitrogen and the compressors for backup. It is at the end of the compressor leader hose right where it goes into the tank. So you are saying I should have line after the water trap?

I used the 7 switch box because it was easy. The controller is only 2"x3" big and mounted under the seat.

hear is a pic of one side for a 8 valve set up this will be mounted on frame rail

one other thing and this is just my 2 cents, when jimmydean gave u the list of stuff he mentioned press connect fittings or as the shops around here call them "push/pull" fittings. he is right and make extra sure u use those fittings stay away from compression fittings because as anyone who has ever had bags before can tell u. u will blow a line from time to time and it saves a lot of headache using the push/ pulls
