Dealer installed 4-way flashers
Well, while looking in a box of parts that was with the truck, I found a flarestat 4 way flasher, exactly like this one on e-bay, even has the flasher thingy itself
Anyways, I was not going to incorporate it into the new wiring harness b/c I thought it was not a factory thing, but now I would like to use it since I found out it was a delaer thing. What would be the best way to incorporate it into the painless harness? How was it installed originally (steering column connector?) any help would be appreciated |

Re: Dealer installed 4-way flashers
Well, that 4-way should have a power lead going in and 4 leads going out....correct ??
You want to connect to the (+) leads going to each corner....after the factory turn-signal switch. That switch has a light in the knob...not sure if its self-grounding or theres a wire for that as well Then the flasher it self would need constant power from the fuse block... Hope this helps... John

Re: Dealer installed 4-way flashers
I have two of those(one is in my 65 C80), and both have connectors that plug between the signal switch and the harness. I would think the painless harness should have the correct connector for the signal switch, that is, provided your four-way switch has the connectors on it like mine do.

Painless usually supplies both the long and short GM connector, for people who run different columns. John
