bagged blazers with step notches
as it goes, i thought i only wanted to go low enough to tuck some tire. i converted a 72 4wd to 2wd and used a trailing arm setup. all was well until i decided to bag it. that's when everything went down hill. the trailing arms hit the frame, so now i'm going 4 link with a step notch. anyone ever done this with a blazer and kept the back seat? would like to see some pics please.

Re: bagged blazers with step notches
I have a step notch in mine. I also built custom trailing arms to remedy the frame clearance issues. I think my back seat will still fit. I havent actually set it in there yet, but from measurements it should fit.
I will carry the seat out to the shop and see for sure if it clears. |

Re: bagged blazers with step notches
Just make thestep notch the same hight as the stand the rear seat is on then mount the seat to the floor. Should work well I think

Re: bagged blazers with step notches
bigbluthg- What kind of intereference did you run into in the rear? I am very close to doing this myself- I have all the parts, just need the time to do it.
Bagged74 is the only one I know of with a step protruding trying to run a back seat. You may also want to look at Pharcyde's set-up. He is doing a raised floor in the rear.

Re: bagged blazers with step notches
Is there a differnce in the two chassis? I was thinking of converting a 4wd to a 2wd myself.

Re: bagged blazers with step notches
there is a differance between the 2 and 4 wheel 2 wheel frame is angled inward and the 4 wheel frame is strait witch makes it eaiser to notch the 4 wheel frame
and the takeing th brackets out and mounting teh seat strait to the notch is a good idea it just deoends on how high the notch is i am renotching mine to lays for 22s so that will make my rr passengers head above the windshield

Re: bagged blazers with step notches
Porterbuilt bagged mine. I am using a 2005 tahoe third row seat for the rear it will be mounted a little more towards the front, but should fit nicely. As for the 4 wheel frame. With the Porterbuilt dropmember you do not need drop spindles to lay it out. Good Luck..

Man, PB's work is by far the best looking I've seen. His use of speed holes in his braces is the coolest personal touch out there.
