Re: EJC78. need some more pics.
Hey, if he's taking requests, I would like to see some more of his taillight setup. I like the 3 LEDs idea, and I'd like to do something similar with my stepside at some point in the future.

Re: EJC78. need some more pics.
I stopped in a truckstop the other day and saw some LED tailights that were round and about 5 inches in diameter. They were stop/brake/turn and running lights. I thought about buying one, tearing it apart and trying to make it fit inside my stepside taillights. I think they were 29.00 each. Still debating.........

Re: EJC78. need some more pics.
If you have FACTORY regulators regardless of power or manual, you should have no problems with them. If you have aftermarket power, you have some work ahead of you.
I have just added these to our catalog and have a set on its way to me for our website truck. I should be putting together a how to on these and post them on my site. We also have these on sale right now until the end of the year: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=217313 Direct link to them in our catalog: http://store.73-87chevytrucks.com/me...tegory_Code=7T

Re: EJC78. need some more pics.
I like the early 60s dash mod. I think I remember seeing one of Hill's with the similar treatment. Makes me rethink of pulling the dash out of my 62.

What is this metal piece in the corner of the window?

Re: EJC78. need some more pics.
This is one of the down falls of the kit there is a gap at the front of the window about 3/8". It needs to be filled in with a few rubber stips that are provided. I was just showing the +'s & the -'s. The +'s out way the -'s by far. One thing that is so awsome is when your sitting in the cab and there is no obstruction of your view what so ever. I'm just waiting what kind of air flow it will be like when your cruising at a decent pace. The dash is somthing I always wanted to do I originally wanted to put the 60's corvette dash but I could not find one. Then I came across a 61 chevy cut it out and had it stored for about 2 months. Then Ken posted some pictures from SEMA last year and the Hill's truck was in there. I was so bummed out that some one did it before me, but I was glad to see how it turned out. I'm contemplating whether to paint it or get it leather wrapped with stiching around the two humps. What do you guys think?

Re: EJC78. need some more pics.
I know about the strips that go in the run channel so you can use the new one. The run strip should go down into the channel and be hidden by the outside scrapper.
I just don't know what that piece in the front of your door is. Is that metal?

It's nothing I had not installed the rubber piece on that pic the piece that you think is metal is actually the inside of the door. I didnt want to install the rubber untill after paint.

I favor a leather treatment. I like how the seams and joints were handled on this dash.

Don't feel like you are alone with the ideas done before your project is. When I put an LS1 in my 82 Blazer it was probably one of the first ones in a Blazer. It's still not on the road, and now LS1 conversions are dime a dozen...

Re: EJC78. need some more pics.
i looked at the dash and the one peice window install that hill did this weekend and i have my doubts about the one peice windows they look killer but when somone wants to take ur truck and breaks that glass there goes 700 bucks down the drain. but the window rubbers on the install looked a little iffy to me when i was judgin the truck only way i will do this is when i build a full blown show truck what will live in a garage not my daily driver. the dash in the blue truck looks badazz but its to short in depth in my opinion other that that its a clean install but i rather do a new model escalade dash that i been wanting to do

I do agree with you on the weatherstripping, I am not too pleased with it...but nothing aftermarket look/feels the same as a original GM. One thing that I am looking forward to are the improvements OPP will be making to their kits based on customer feedback. I have already been told of a couple that are in the works, so the kit will definately get better with some time.

They fabricated the mid-60s Corvette-style dash from fiberglass and aluminum. The truck ('72 Chevy) was featured in Custom Classic Trucks (http://www.printthis.clickability.co...artnerID=63737.

Re: EJC78. need some more pics.
Wow that dash is awsome! That is exactly what I was thinking of, is the stitching around the radius called a seam stitch or a baseball stitch I've heard it called both. Well what ever it is its bad @ss! I'm going to do a similar ceter consol I already have a double din Eclipse AVN-6600 navigation, Vintage Air slim line 4 knob climate control, and the new ride pro(e) that is going on the dash as it cascades into to center console. I'm going to have a console shifter and in the center console & I'm going to build a stealth box to house a JL 10w7 under the arm rest. I have all the parts in boxes but no time Oh well one day, one day

Re: EJC78. need some more pics.
[QUOTE=bigblock73;1930108]If someone takes your truck...does it matter what happens to the window...as you no longer have the truck?? Besides, that is what insurance is for...keep your receipts, you should be covered. Also, I talked with Ben at OPP, once they sell their initial order of kits, they will be offering the option to purchase single panes of glass, for instances such as theft, vandalism, etc...
[QUOTE] i under stand that but my deductable for my truck is 500 so if i do get the truck back or they didnt take it but just took the stereo im still out 700 because some insurance will pay for it then the deductable kicks in. but if they are offerin the one pane glass that make me rethink now i might want to buy it but why didnt gm keep these door glass flat instead of rounded

Re: EJC78. need some more pics.
Aerodynamics for one. You dont see to many flat pieces of glass on anything being made well back windows of pickups ya but not side.....And my vote is for the one piece side windows .You can take those pain in the .ss vent windows .I just put new rubber and felt on the vents and side now gona get rid of them hope i can take off the new felt without bending or breaking them.About the old vent windows for about 3 yrs i didnt have a door key soo i would use my ignition key to pop the wing window and unlock the door...ya i know changing locks arnt hard to replace now that ive done them..still makes me laugh..
