Quick Question on Rear Coils?!

When I pulled my rear coils today I noticed that on one side, on the top "cup" the spring rests in, there was this thin rubber gasket thing that was all chewed up. Only there and not on the other side

I was wondering if I needed to replace this part (if so, what's it called, where can I get it) or if it's fine to just go without them...

thanks,
Nate

Never heard of that, mine doesn't have it. So, i would guess that you don't need it.

Re: Quick Question on Rear Coils?!

Most fwd cars have those on the struts. They are to help prevent squaks from the metal on metal. They are call spring isolaters by most manufactures. I have had several 67-72 trucks and none of them have had them. If it's not squeaking I would not worry about it.

an inner tube... cut an old one up and plop a piece of it in there if you really want. Otherwise, don't worry about it as most trucks don't have them in there.
