spare tire cutout patch panel

Does anyone know of a place or person taht has or can make a panel to replace the tire cutout on my left rear fender of my 62. My fender is in good shape so i don't realy want to buy an aftermarket without the cutout. Any help is good help. Thanks Dennis

Re: spare tire cutout patch panel

it might be easier and cheeper to just swap it out. If you are going to do it your self, cut out the spare tire cutout, weld in the patch finish it and then paint it , it might be worth it , that is if you do it , If you are going to pay to get it done , you might want to get a few estimates on the cost.
As for a patch you can always buy a regular fender, and cut out the patch and weld it to yours, or replace the whole thing. My 2 cents

Re: spare tire cutout patch panel

I have been looking for a fender with out the spare tire location for a while. I just didn't want to buy a new one. I just figured maybe someone had a fender that was rotted out on the bottom and would be willing to cut the portion off that I could use to patch my fender. There is nothing wrong with my fender I just don't like that big dent in it called a spare tire cutout. Has anyone bought any of the aftermarket fenders?

I was told that you could cut that dent out and flip it around and re-weld it... but I dunno if that was on the '60-66's or the '67-'72's.
