One Step Closer

Last week I finally got the top painted. Going against board advice, I decided to paint the inside black. I still have to install the glass, and finish out the door weatherstripping. Still a ways to go, but it is one step closer. So that this post is not useless, Here are some pics.

I really like the black top. I think if you install the lower moldings with the black center, it would tie in the silver and black quite nicely. Just my opinion of course.

Re: One Step Closer

im not trying to jump on the boat here because im not like that. but i think the more i keep going back to the pics (8 or 10 times today) the more i like it. i am just not use to seeing black tops and it caught me off guard. that does look good. are the back windows going to be tinted or clear?

Re: One Step Closer

Thanks for all the compliments.

Shock - That is exactly my plan. I plan to order the lower molding with black center in a couple of weeks. Hope to put them on the first week of April.

I can't do the inside until I get the seals and glass put in. The last picture shows where is sits when I'm not able to work on her, and it is not exactly enclosed. Since the inside of the top is black, I think I'm going to keep the glass clear rather than tinting it. It is a single-wall top, so I do have two interior lights. I hope to make some rear side panels within the next two months.

Re: One Step Closer

Hey NuBomb, I definitely dig that black roof with the silver! The black actually receeds into the surroundings and brings out that silver. White would have competed with the silver too much.
Altho I voted against black on the inside, 90% of this stuff is personal taste and should be appreciated that way. There really isnt a right or wrong when it comes to that.

Lookin good, Man---DAC
