Re: Ouch!!!
Thats horrible. Don't know if that was a comedy of errors on following distance or if the chevy was stopped behind the school bus and the big rig wasn't paying attention and didn't stop in time. Hope the guy is ok.

Re: Ouch!!!
just another reason to turn your wheels towards the ditch if you're at a full stop on a well-trafficked road - at least you have a chance to get bumped off the road.

Re: Ouch!!!
Wow I missed that on the news tonight. I hope the guy makes it through alright. I just had a friend that was in a motorcycle accident on friday on webb road, he is still in critical condiition and they are not sure he is going to make it, its a hard thing to go through for both family and friends.

Re: Ouch!!!
Does "driving too close" or "dialing your cell phone" sound like reasonable excuses?
You know...sometimes I just wake up in an ornery mood. I hope the people in the truck are OK...

Re: Ouch!!!
wow. to mash up one of our trucks that bad, that semi must have been doing a number. Have to be proud a bit, though, anything newer, and that semi probably wouldn't have half the damage. But man, what a waste of a kickass 68-72 GMC. Oh yeah, and I hope the guy makes it out alright.

Re: Ouch!!!
Saw that on the news last night - really mangled. I think I saw that truck a couple days ago. Hope the guy survives.

Re: Ouch!!!
Here's the news story pulled from the TV stations website. I hadn't heard about turning your wheels but certainly will now!
Not one, but two separate school bus accidents this morning. Both involved buses from the same school district. Authorities believe dense fog was to blame for both mishaps. One of the those accidents sent the driver of a second vehicle to the hospital. He is in critical condition. It happened near Northwest 40th and Highway 196 in rural Butler County. There were 11 students on board the Circle School District bus, ranging from kindergarten to the 9th grade. One of the students was taken to the hospital, but was released with only abrasions. The driver of the pickup was taken in critical condition to the hospital. Authorities say the accident happened when the bus was stopped picking up kids. An older model pickup truck was behind the bus when a semi rear ended the pick up truck, which then slammed into the back of the bus. Authorities believe the semi driver could not see the stopped vehicles because of dense fog in the area. No one else on the bus was hurt.

Re: Ouch!!!
That could backfire and send the driver side door into the rear of the semi..
