any know what the book calls for on the capisity of the stock 12 bolt rear end on a 68 c-10?

It's about 1 1/2 quarts, I just changed mine last week.

Me too. I was surprised at how much water was in the bottom of mine about 1/4 of a cup. Word to the wise if the truck has been sitting with out a bed for a length of time pull the cover & change it's juice.

ummm till it just comes out the hole is what i fill all mine too

Yeah, I just fill it till it starts coming out of the fill hole.

That's great advice and all, but it helps if you have an idea of how much gear oil to go buy so you don't have to go back to the parts store

Buy 3 quarts. It doesn't hurt to have some extra laying around.

I actaully did. I didn't know how much to get when I did mine. I brought a bottle back
