Spring Eye Bushing Time

Monday I'm gonna start the change out on my spring eye bushings on my 72K10. I don't have a torch so I think I'm gonna go the drill out and pound out the rubber route. I guess I'll saw out the metal bushing housing. You guys said to freeze the bushings and grease them just prior to installing them. Any more tips or advice berfore I start this. Somehow I just don't think this is going to be very much fun.

Re: Spring Eye Bushing Time

You are right they are not much fun. The last set I put in I didn't want to waste a whole day on so I went to Napa and the machinist popped out the old ones and put in the new ones for $30 labor.

Thats the only way I could get them out. The bolts have fused with the center metal tubes in the bushings and they would not come out. The nuts also had to be cut and chiseled off. I only got one side in the back done today but now I know what to do tomorrow. (if I can still move)
