drum to Disc brake swap 1967-72
I've been told you can use the stock A arms from a 1967--72 1/2 or 3/4 ton truck just change the spindale is this true and will the 1973--87 spindale work or is the Ball joints bigger on eather one 1/2 or 3/4
Reason i ask i like the stay with the older screw in Upper and lower bushing instead of the press in ones let me know |

My setup is part 73 connected to my 69. If you look up my post "My Disc Install" you will see and read what and how I did it.

Re: drum to Disc brake swap 1967-72
I'm doing mine with '85 spindles and ball joints, but going with aftermarket 6-bolt rotors.
Check out the FAQ index thread for more info from other builds. If I were to do it again, I would use the light duty '88-'92 2500's, they had 6 bolt rotors. You do have to change the lower control arm to the original year 3/4 ton one for the larger press-in ball joint. Check out the "easy disk brake swap" thread in the FAQ index. Using this method, you can use ALL off the shelf parts, no special parts at all.
