Another Noob, just a quick intro...

Hey everyone,

Just purchased a 77 Sierra Classic that i've been after for a couple of years from a old fella here at work. He ordered it new in 77 and its been his d/d since. It aint fancy but it suits me. 2wd - 454/th400 long bed.

Took pics last nite, but the wife confiscated the digi-cam this morn and has it with her. I'll try and post a couple later on this evening.

Just thought I'd drop in and say Hey, before askin lots of tech questions.

Looks like a cool site from what i've seen so far. I've already found helpful threads w/ info (ex: tire size, complete with PICS) --- but even without all the excellent wealth of knowledge and info, i must admit,, i would have joined just for the priviledge of just once asking IIOY? lmao

Thanks for readin

Re: Another Noob, just a quick intro...

Update:

OK,, didnt make it to work... got a Flat on the way in

Spare's FLAT also

Caught a ride back to the house to get my car... gone out to get some rubber.

So anyhoo,, took a min and posting the pics before i head out. Wish me luck!

ps. Bad Karma = flat tire --- Good Karma = flat tire close enough to limp into a Friends driveway --- "Doh" Karma = flat SPARE

Re: Another Noob, just a quick intro...

Thanks guys,

I know it aint as clean as most of the others on here,, but i was in the market for A truck of some sort (almost a necessity to have around the house)... and I'm extremely partial to CHEVYs. Well I've been after this one for a little over 2 yrs now, but the ole guy wouldnt sell it. I had almost given up on it, and was Seriously about to get whatever i could find on a deal when late last week I happened to ride by the fella's house and saw him under the hood (checking oil). I stopped in to say hello, and he asked if i was still interested and if so, he was ready to sell it to me. He made me an offer (which was ironically going to be my "low-ball" offer), so i didnt even counter -- just said ok lets hop in the truck and run to the bank. The rest is history. LOL

Sorry... i get long winded sometimes.

Well, update to the Flats this morning: Got the FLAT SPARE down from underneath, and had em slap a new generic tire on there (with intentions of making that the 'new spare'. That got me back rollin, so i rode back to the tire fella's and got me 2 new "Cooper Cobra G/T"s on the back. Upgraded to 255/70s in place of the 235/75s.

He only had 2 in stock so until next week, i'll be ridin around with white-letter 255/70s on the back,, and 235/45s plains on the front.

Oh well, All in a day's work.

Thanks for readin.

Lee, welcome to the board; and I must say, that truck looks pretty fancy to me...454 Sierra Classic with factory (or possibly dealer) bed rails, exterior decor package (i.e. hood ornament, two-tone hood and striping), factory rally wheels with '76/77-specific hub covers, etc, etc.

Nice find!
