NEED: Source to buy AC Idle Solenoid Compensator. GM part# 1613608.
Not available from: Chevy Dealer (discontinued), LMC Truck, JC Whitney, Auto Zone & Advance Auto Parts.

Vehicle:
1971 Chevy Cheyenne 10 Fleetside Long bed, 350 V8, AT, AC. Built: 5/12/1971 Fremont, CA. Sold new: Kelsey & Sons Chevrolet, 390 HWY 246, Buellton, CA. Order# TNL098 Zone 34, Dealer 270. Customer Order. Weight 3677 (unloaded) Factory AC.

Location: Solenoid is attachted to bracket mounted to side of carburator next to throttle linkage.

Purpose: Increases curb idle when AC is on & standing still.

If you enter FS607 (Niehoff) into the part search on partsamerica.com then it should also pull up the listing for the part and a picture. Have not confirmed as correct for 1971 C10/350 V/8 4bbl. Let Eheeces know if your able to do that?

I have a 71' Cheyenne and have bought one of these NOS on eBay for it. I just searched under idle solenoid, put the part number in, and then checked to search under title and description. When I bought mine, there were 3 or 4 for sale.

There is one listed now, but the part number is 1114444. Sure looks a lot like the one on my truck now though. If that one won't work for you, just keep looking and someone will list one.

I dont know if this will help but I looked up idle stop solenoid at oreilly auto parts web site for a 72 chevy with 350 and came up with this.

Borg warner part #: ECS49

replaces oe#: 1114450, 1997403, 1997409, 1997416, 19997417, 1997470 and 62373914.

Problem is it is listed for $132.99!
