how to install lowering shackles 2002
i bought lowering shackles for my truck but have never installed them before, can anyone tell me how to install the shackles? my leaf springs are on top of my axel, how do i know when there is no pressure on them and it's safe to remove the bolts?

put jackstands under the frame of each side of the truck toward the rear. Then with your floor jack, jack up the rear end under the differential just enough to relieve some pressure. From there, it's simple remove and replace. You may have to play around with the floor jack a little to get the right tension but leaf springs aren't near as dangerous as coils are. Remember, they still have an anchoring point in front of the axle and are attached to the rear end so there's nowhere for them to go flying. The total time should be less than an hour for a 1st timer. I can do them in 30 minutes or less now by myself. It's pretty easy. Have fun!
