Jimmy / Blazer Difference. Help FAST, please.
Thank you for looking. I am so close to finishing my '72 Blazer and very excited. I am selling my '73 CJ5 and had a guy offer to trade me a VERY nice '71 Jimmy. Totally stock and NO rust. Even the rocker boxes and behind the door hinges are perfect. It needs work like paint and an interior and all the exterior trim, but I think it is actually a fair trade for both.
My question is, are parts for the Jimmy and Blazer interchangeable? They looked just alike, but I want to be sure most of my '72 Blazer parts would work on a '71 Jimmy. Also, I looked a little online for replacement parts and everyone lists K5 Blazer, but very few actually specify they work on a Jimmy. Lift kits are a good example. So, if they say Blazer, does that always mean it will work on a Jimmy? Thanks. PS. I know some things are a little different like the grille and headlights, but other than that are they the same? |

They are basically the same.Small stuff like emblems, tailgate, etc are different. The core support and front fenders, grill are different from a chevy though (Note that 69-72 GMC fenders are the same as 68 Chevy fenders) 69-72 hoods swap from Chevy to GMC though. The chassis, suspension, and most of the body is the same.

Yeah, Blazer and Jimmy parts are interchangeable. Everything's the same less grille, emblems etc...
