Differences in years....?
I have a 63 GMC suburban.
I see alot of stuff advertised that it fits 60-66. Then I saw doors that showed they were for 64-66...Why not 63? Can someone who really knows these things tell me exactly what can be interchanged...!>? I might decide to replace my fenders, hood, and doors....Maybe. And replace my grille also with a chevy grille or a custom one like "Fuel Pump" has. What about suspension? is there differences as far as 62-66 goes? Just some basic education... I appreciate it Tim |

Sure thing Tim! 60-63, cabs and doors are different then 64-66(look at a picture and note the windshield) 60-62 has torsion bars up front, 63-66 has coil springs. Ask away if you need to know more. |

Re: Differences in years....?
just a side note. The GMC hood is different from the chevy. Also the frame is a tid bit wider on the 60-62's compaired to the 63-66. Also, chevy's have coils in the back from 60-66 where GMC's have coils from 60-62 and rear leafs from 63-66. Hope this helps.

Re: Differences in years....?
On torsion bar truck (60-62) because the frames are wider, the bumpers are different these years. 62-66 have the same hoods, 60 and 61 have the "nostril" hoods. 63-66 have the same bumpers...

If you haven't been there, Jolly has a wealth of GMC info on his site. http://www.6066gmcguy.org/
