need to know if.......
Hey guys i was wondering if a set of lift springs from an '89 blazer will fit my '72? It's a rough country 6" lift going pretty cheap. Just wanted to know. Thanks guys.

Re: need to know if.......
It will work but the front springs are longer and will hit the frame. You might get by with using a longer front shackle but I'd just do it right and get a 69-72 lift.If it has lift rear springs they won't work on a gen 1 blazer, and if it has blocks stay away! 6" lift blocks are not recommended.I would just look for a lift kit for a 69-72...

Move your spring mount location, guys do it all the time to allow for the longer, softer, better flexing late model leafs to fit.

If you wanna go big, I'll sell you my 8" Superlift springs when they come off my ride. Things you need to consider with a 6" lift, or more, is that it's not just springs. You'll need extended brake lines, corrected steering (which means drop pitman, drop draglink, raised steering arm, or a combination of these), and of course tires. All add up to more $$$. |

Re: need to know if.......
AJ is dead on here. Don't worry about lift kits, tires, or anything that doesn't involve engine swap. It's been several months and you haven't been making any progress on the swap. That's what you should focus on.
I couldn't get a lift for you but that shouldn't stop you, go get one however you have to do it and pick up a 15 or 20 dollar chilton's manual as well. EVERYTHING you need to know will be there, i've used them a million times just as other people here have, it will definitely be worth the couple bucks. It's almost february and the big blazer invasion you planned is coming up and you will not be allowed to show up to your own event without YOUR blazer, no bumming rides and no driving your Jeep Grand Cherokee once again to a BLAZER event.

i am running 8" springs from my 84 shortbox, and the 6" springs from the rear with no problems, the previous owner installed some longer shackles in the rear
