71 Cheyenne - How Much to Lower
Hey everybody, question about lowering my 71 long bed. I am looking for the right stance. More hot rod than low rider. I am considering drop springs 2"/3". I want to keep a rake front to rear and not level the truck out. Currently there is 4" gap between the top of my front tire and the upper edge of the wheel well. Rear gap is 5.5". So I only have 1.5" difference front to rear and I don't want to decrease that difference too much. I think stock should be about 2" difference, is that true? I would like to see some pics of trucks with a similar drop....ideas/suggestions? Can anyone help me out? I want to make sure I get the exact stance I want on the first try. Thanks for any help that you guys can provide.

Re: 71 Cheyenne - How Much to Lower
Thanks for your input. Do you have the same 1.5" rake at stock ride height?

you should search for the threads titled lets see all lowered trucks... or try a lets see lowerd long trucks... or something. There's eleventy billion photos on here, and gobs of them are of lowered truclks. A LWB can look long and mean when lowered right.

Re: 71 Cheyenne - How Much to Lower
I did 2/4 ECE premium, and now wish I did 4/6
Since you already have disc brakes most likely, 4/6 will be cheaper for you - I say do that. |

2" springs up front and 3" in back.
Tires are P255 R/60-17" all the way around.

Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs. |

Re: 71 Cheyenne - How Much to Lower
You are on the right track with 2/3 drop springs. An 18/20 inch wheel combo will help achieve that "Rake" look you (and me) desire.
