Question 16" Rallies?

Hey guys my 81 2wd C10 has 15" rallies, with a 3" spindle drop. The Lower control arm interfears with the rim, so I was thinking if I put larger diameter rims so they would not rub. I like the look of the rallies, is there some place I can get 16"? Dont old vettes have those? I would like to also maintain the proper backspacing. Any suggestions would be great.

Also, I know that i can grind down the control arm, but it seems like I have grinded a lot already. I'm thinking that it could take away from the integrity of the components, I would hate for a CA to fail doing 100+km/h.

NOTE: I have 5 lug pattern

Re: 16" Rallies?

stocktonwheel.com
They make 16" rallies that are our style. They will also do the outer rim part chrome and leave the face paintable. Don't know if they can do 17", but other than that they will build em how you want the--10" wide or whatever backspacing, etc.

wheel vintiques does stuff like that too.

Re: 16" Rallies?

Looks pretty sweet. Thanks for the quick reply. Looking at some of the facilities they have there I wonder if there is a place in Calgary that can do that type of work. I could maybe just get my stock rallies modified.

Does anyone know if the vette rallies are actually 16"? would they be 5 on 5?

Re: 16" Rallies?

Vette wheels are not 5 on 5, and did not come in 16" anyhow as far as I know.

Re: 16" Rallies?

I think you will find it cheaper to just buy them outright instead of having them modified. And again stockton can build the corvette rallies in a 5x5bolt pattern. I like them with the smoothie center cap, which is an option for them, but not our style rally.
It was cheaper for me to buy 15x10" rallies for the back than to have my 8"ers widened.

16+ rally pictures?

Does anyone have some pictures of rallies that are bigger then 15s? I would like to see if i like them. I really like the look of 15" with wide tires but i have never seen taller ones then that

Re: 16" Rallies?

This is smashinchucks truck. I don't know exactly what size they are or what type of rallies, but they are rallies and I believe they are 16s.
Best I could do. I have been looking for pics of 73-87 trucks with 73-87 rallies 16" or better and haven't found any.
