WTB: 8 lug HD rims

I'm looking for the newer style of HD rims on like 05 style trucks. Not sure what years these wheels spanned but I really want to find a set of 8 lugs if anyone can help reply or PM me

Careful, I'm not sure of the year but there is a changeover from inch to metric bolt circle that don't quite match.

Re: WTB: 8 lug HD rims

I'd like to make a correction if that's alright. ALL GM VEHICLES are put together with metric hardware. it has been this way for the last few years now, if not longer. I wanted to put '02 GMC wheels on my '70, and the stud to hole clearance was massive. if you PM me a price you're looking for, I can look on a couple sites for ya.. but you'll more than likely have to change to metric studs.

Re: WTB: 8 lug HD rims

depends on disc or drum brakes, but basically just go buy 32 metric GM studs, I can't remember the thread pitch or size off hand, but any parts store should be able to tell you.

make sure you get lugs with your wheels, otherwise you'll have close to $100 wrapped up in hardware!

but if you have access to a drill press, just gradually keep increasing bit size for the stud holes (after removing the stock ones, of course) and keep trying the metrics until the ribbed neck will not go in without some persuasion. press in, and repeat 32x. lol. any questions just PM me

Re: WTB: 8 lug HD rims

and the HD wheels you're looking for are called "PYO's" to most guys who drive them... don't ask me what it means though.. and you can find them MUCH more reasonable than H2 wheels, as H2's are sought after by many to replace their PYO's.

just my .02

www.dieselplace.com

you need to be a member for a month before you can post in the classifieds, so if you see some you're interested in, let me know as I have been on there for awhile and know quite a few of the guys.

good luck!

Re: WTB: 8 lug HD rims

I am not sure if it was in the parts forum or in the truck forums but I seem to remember there is a conversion lug-nut for this.
Every time it came up it was suggested to look on Ebay and a set can be had for like $30-40.

Re: WTB: 8 lug HD rims

yes the lug nut thread on the newer chevys are metric but the bolt circle is still in inch - 8 on 6.5" i think - you can run these on older models because the rim is not hub centric - meaning that the cone(taper) of the lugnut seats the wheel firmly to the hub - you can get aftermarket lugs that have the threads for the plastic caps

Re: WTB: 8 lug HD rims

8 x 6.5 is the BP for these wheels, but with 3/4t axles there has to be some sort of hub centricity (if it's even a word?) since the axle goes through the wheel? but I'm just a half-ton guy...
