i was thinking about my past projects
i was thinking last ngith about my padt projects.. in the last 6 or 7 years ive had 3 project trucks.. first one was about 6 or 7 years ago, i was given a 1960 chevy lwb 1/2 stepper. cali truck was in the same family for over 35 years.. no motor, but a rust free truck.. i got a 283 for it, factory option for that year was with in a few hundred dollars of driving it.. but had to make a decision wheni started my bussiness i had 600.00 total in it and sold it to a guy i knew from chicago for the 600 i had in it..
next was a 68 gmc 1/2 lwb truck with no motor, i ended up tradign it for the 76 crew cab.. next was the 76 crew cab that everythign went wrong with from the start.. stripped a darned good truck down to make the crew cab run, and that went wrong.. good motor, decided to start rod knock on fire up.. the 76 is going ot be scrapped in the next day or so, need the money.. seems like life keeps gettign in the way of my projects..lol but im already thinking of next year and if abel will be picking up another project.. i want another crew cab, but after readign over on the 47 to 59 side of things, i rember the ones that got away from me when i was a kid.. would like ot have a 50 panel truck, or pickup.. so who knows what direction the wind will blow me in next time.. i think if possible, the next ones goign to be running when i get it.. maybe if im driving it, i wont have to sell it,,lol so now im truckless, got a motor home that is trying my paitence worse than that 76 ever did, and stuck driving a nissan altima.. in hind sight i should have just fixed up my 84 3/4 that i stripped to make the 76 run.. i miss that 84...

Re: i was thinking about my past projects
I wouldn't scrap that thing because of a bad motor --- running 350's can be had for $500 all day long, a wiring kit to rewire the whole truck might hit you for another 500.
If the body is good its worth saving

in life i have found you don't fly high all the time, and you don't stay grounded all the time, but in time it all works out. hope you get your wings back soon.

Re: i was thinking about my past projects
i have enjoyed every one of them, even the 68 that i didnt do anything with.. traded it off before i got around to it.. and i will get somethign else again when i have a few dollars to spare, or if i manage to trade that ol motor home for a project.. and even then, the next one may not get finish or even get to fire it up.. but i will have owned it.. forunatly i have sent al of them n to somebody who had the moeny and time to finish them up.. unfotunatly with the 76 crew cab, i dont have the money to mess with it any more.. and trust me it hurts me alot to scrap something thats not a total basket case. but it has been listed on a few places.. right now i need the 3 to 500 it will bring for scrap.. allready made some oney off of it from some parts and some aluminum going to the scrap yard.. i got my pictures of it and will always rember working on it, and always think the darn truck was just out to get me.. i am keeping the sleeper shell of it for the next one if i go the dualie route.. but i missed out on buying a 49 or 50 panel when i was 17 or so, always regreted that, but i raised by a mechanic or even knew one.. was raised by a great carpenter, but i loved old cars and trucks.. go figure...lol i will stick around because you all are a great bunch of guys.. and will let you know what i end up with..
