Tilt Column Signal Lever
I did a quick search and didnt find the exact info I needed. Ive got a tilt column out of an '80 that was shipped to me with the levers detached and Im wondering how to reattach the cruise/signal lever.
Thanks Kris

Re: Tilt Column Signal Lever
With the wheel off. Remove the lock-plate. You'll want a lock plate tool. Worth the money to avoid the 2 screwdriver snap-ring drama. You'll see right where to attach the lever. Just remember to thread your cruise wire down thru the column and plug it in.
Re-assemble. - Dave I'm serious about the lock plate tool!!

Re: Tilt Column Signal Lever
I picked up the tool at the store and had it fixed up in about 5 minutes.

Re: Tilt Column Signal Lever
That might be the way to go if you only plan to use it once...as with most things from HF. Im not saying dont shop at HF because I do it myself for piddly things.
Of course after I get the lever in and get the column back together I cant get my stock one out!!! The bolt just inside the engine side of the firewall connecting the int. shaft just will not come out! I got the nut off easy enough but the bolt just wont budge. The head is perfectly round so I tried tapping it out from the back with no luck and it only rotates like 15 degrees.

Re: Tilt Column Signal Lever
I have a column as well as I want to work on. Could you give more information on the tool? I have O'Reiley and Auto Zone in my area. Should they know what I'm looking for if I ask for a lock plate removal tool?

Re: Tilt Column Signal Lever
Buy one, you will use more than once in your life. Mine fits many different column threads and sizes.
