Re: wiring diagram problem on 89 suburban
I'm taking it you need a shot from the inside of the truck looking at the back of the fuse box? If you have a big library local they have a reference section that has all the big shop books to look through. I had to do this for my dad's pickup's vacuum diagram. Their books blow the Chilton manuals to shame...

yes its underneath the hood. the wires come from underneath the truck up to the connectors on the firewall..

Re: wiring diagram problem on 89 suburban
Ok I scanned in the page for the reartail light/fuel tank wiring for ya. Hope you can blow it up on your end to read it better. Take some time to study it and you will be able to figure it out.
There is a 3/8" or 7/16" hex headed bolt (Hell it may even be a 10MM hex head) that holds the harness junction block to the fuse block under the hood located dead center of the junction. Loosen this completely (it shouldn't fall out as it's anchored on the opposite side Remove the underhood harness. It can now be seperated into 3 sections. headlight/front turnsignals/horn, engine, and rear brake lights/fuel. Like I said take your time, study it and you WILL be able to fix it.
