Re: 400 Small Block Engine
Funny, I thought that the 400 was the only small block chevy made!

Re: 400 Small Block Engine
I just built a 406 from a used 400 and it is a torque-monster! I'm still breaking it in, so I haven't really ran it that hard, but I can tell the power is there. The only thing that is slightly more expensive is getting the new rotating assembly/rebuild kit (we are talking a few hundred more). Most of the parts are shared with a 350. I like the old school approach to the 400. Good luck, oh yeah, did I tell you they make tons of torque?

Re: 400 Small Block Engine
I am so phsyched by all the great ups on this motor.. We took off the water pump, oil pan, valve covers, fuel pump so we could clean the outside of the block really good so it could be painted then begin reassembling it with all the new goodies while the truck is at the body shop.
